Why we love it : 
Our Bug Off bar provides insect repellent comparable to store bought sprays - but without the harsh chemicals, solvents, or overpowering scent.  Bug off has a nourishing, sensitive skin friendly base of coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter, and a lavender-citronella scent. It is also travel friendly and compact, compared to sprays. 
 
Active Ingredients:
 
Lavender EO - Active chemicals linalool and linalyl acetate repel mosquitos, moths and other insects. 
 
Cedarwood EO  - Cedarwood is known to repel moths, beetles, and termites, and many other pests.  
 
 Lemongrass EO - This plant  is the source of the well known repellent citronella
 
Citronella -  (or citronellal) This active ingredient is derived from lemongrass and works to confuse insects by masking the scents that they use to locate food sources. Some studies have determined that citronella may have a direct repelling effect on mosquitoes by disrupting their sense of smell.
 
 Peppermint EO  - Repels pests like ants, spiders and mosquitoes. Menthol content also causes irritation to insects.

Our journey began when our founder, Missy Biagiotti, sought a natural sense of peace for her sister undergoing cancer treatment. As they sat together in a rooftop healing garden in a hospital in Boston, surrounded by the calming effects of nature, the vision for our farm was born, and in 2019, it sprouted to life.
Since then, Pumpkin Blossom Farm has bloomed into one of the largest lavender farms in New England.
