What is Hydrosol? 
 
Hydrosol, otherwise known as an herbal distillate, is a versatile product created via steam distillation from our very own lavender plants. It is made up of water soluble plant compounds, minerals, essential oil, and water.
 
How is it made? 
 During the distillation process, lavender is put into our artisanal copper distillation vessel, which is heated over a flame. Steam fills the vessel to extract essential oils and water soluble plant compounds, which then travel through a pipe into a cold water bath to condense and liquify the steam. The liquid then travels to a glass separator, where the essential oils separate and float on top, while the hydrosol sinks to the bottom and is siphoned off for use. 

 
What can I use it for? 
 
All purpose cleaner- For those who try to use harsh chemicals sparingly, Hydrosol offers all the benefits of a traditional household cleaner, but all organic. Spray directly onto countertops, stovetops and kitchen surface, and the natural antibacterial properties will handle the rest. Mix with white vinegar or a few drops of castile soap for a more powerful clean.
 
Skincare - Hydrosol is gentle enough to use on the face and works wonders as a toner, facial mist, or incorporated into your established skincare routine. It also works to cleanse and perfect, as it has natural anti-inflammatory properties, and helps to balance the natural Ph of your skin. (Imbalance can lead to dryness, sensitivity and breakouts.)   Because of lavender’s natural anti-microbial/fungal properties, it may also help with acne-prone or problem skin that needs some extra help and reduce excess sebum production. (Make sure to patch test beforehand, as everyone’s skin is different and has different needs) 
 
Hair Care - Lavender has been used for hair care for centuries, and preliminary studies have shown that it may promote hair growth. Lavender offers the ability to promote blood circulation, and anti-inflammatory properties to soothe the scalp. It also can be used as a hair mist to promote softness, shine, and hydration.
 
Refreshing - use on linens, furniture, in your bathroom, room spray, car freshener, in your iron, for pets,  and anything else that needs a pick me up. Hydrosol has natural antimicrobial properties and anti fungal properties that promote a thorough clean, not just a soothing scent. 
 
Aromatherapy - add to a diffuser, use on pulse points, use as pillow mist for better sleep, or simply spray in the air to relieve yourself from stress/anxiety, and envelop yourself in the peace and comfort of lavender.
