Jen Jackson, RYT-200

About the Teacher

Jen joined the Pumpkin Blossom Farm Family in the summer of 2021 and launched our now popular and beloved yoga classes in the barn. Jen’s class designs are organic, based on the needs and interests of the students in the room, while still preserving a well-rounded and thoughtful all levels practice. Jen strives to make her classes welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for all and passionately believes the yogic path is for anyone seeking strength, flexibility and balance for the mind, body and spirit.

In addition to her work with us at PBF, Jen leads yoga practices at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Woodstock, VT (Where she is also a Park Ranger!), and at Sharing Yoga in Concord.  Jen formerly ran her own yoga school, Trickster Yoga AK, outside Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.

When she’s not on her mat, Jen enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband Troy and her darling dogs Cache, Charli, Papi and Tango. You can find them on the water or on the trail in all seasons; paddle boarding, hiking, or snowshoeing.

About the Class

60 minutes

Take time for this mid-week reset and find yourself flowing into that Friday morning meeting with more focus, patience and looking forward to a sweet summer weekend ahead. Our Thursday night class is all about finding calm, ease and freedom- mind body and spirit. Practices are low and slow, with a focus on calming the nervous system through mindful movement and simple breath exercises. This class will also end a longer guided progressive relaxation, during which you are welcome to drape one of our heavenly scented lavender pillows over your eyes.

Class is held in the barn under the twinkle lights. This practice is ideal for all students.

Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, a towel and water, as well as any personal props such as blocks, straps and bolsters, as our supplies on the farm are limited.

Following class, you are invited to join us downstairs in the bard for a lavender based vegan snack and lemonade, then find a spot on the grass or cozy up in an Adirondack chair and just enjoy the feeling of post yoga bliss.

Our yoga teacher, Jen, is always available before and after class to chat, advise, and answer your questions.

About the Teacher

Alyssa has been an avid supporter of Pumpkin Blossom Farm since its opening season and has attended nearly every yoga class since they began in 2021.

After subbing a handful of our evening candlelight classes and with encouragement from her friend and yoga mentor Jen, Alyssa decided to attend yoga teacher training at Sharing Yoga in Concord and became a certified yoga teacher in the spring of 2024.

Over her years of practice, Alyssa has immersed herself in different forms of asana, ranging from restorative and yin to power vinyasa, as well as yoga philosophy, meditation, breath work.  She looks forward to sharing this passion for yoga with her students at Pumpkin Blossom Farm.

When not teaching or practicing here on the farm, Alyssa serves as the Community Relations Specialist for the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. In her role, she advocates for and amplifies the voices of survivors.

Alyssa has helped facilitate successful donation-based yoga classes and other awareness efforts on behalf of the Coalition here at the farm since 2022.

What to Expect

Your experience will include a sweet and slow yoga asana practice in the barn, a joyful and creative art project, self-discovery through journaling and meditation, and opportunities to reconnect with nature in the fields and forests of the farm.

While the fields will not be available to harvest at the time of this workshop, there will be plenty of purple for you to enjoy! Take photos, wander the rows, or lie down and take in the heavenly scent (we do have honeybees hard at work on the farm, but they tend to leave us alone if we leave them alone).  The farm will be closed to the public the day of the retreat, so we will have it all to ourselves!

Yoga and meditation practices will take place in the loft studio of the barn, which is accessible by stairs only. Please bring a mat, blanket, water, a journal and pen. We do have a limited supply of mats and other props at the farm. The barn floor is rustic and uneven, so you may consider bringing an extra mat or knee cushion for increased comfort.

All materials for the art project are supplied by the farm.

We will supply a large “charcuterie board” boxed snack and lavender lemonade for lunch. The box includes a variety of fruits, cheese, spreads, nuts, etc.  You are welcome to bring additional food for lunch if you wish. If you have a highly specialized diet, please let us know in advance of the retreat and we can discuss options with you.

Please dress in stretchy, comfortable layers appropriate for light physical activity and whatever the day’s weather brings. The art activity will include the use of ink stamps, so keep this in mind when choosing your outfit for the day as well.

Retreat registration is open to adults and teens aged 16 and up. Anyone under 18 must have a legal guardian or parent complete the paperwork. All participants must sign a liability waiver and photography consent form.
